Description

The 2024 Cabernet Merlot is comprised of 83% of Cabernet Sauvignon from old Paulownia Cabernet Sauvignon planted in 1973, 10% merlot from Avery merlot and 7% of Cabernet Franc, matured in 27% new French Oak. A nose of blackberry and blueberry fruit complemented by dark chocolate, leading into a complex palate of smooth tannins and cedar spice.

  Leading up to the 2024 vintage, we saw mostly cool and dry weather, apart from a warm weekend mid- March. This allowed for a gradual tannin development. Prior to this, during flowering, we saw cooler weather, which resulted in smaller yields.

  Our Merlot was picked in Mid- March, as well as some small parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot shows vibrant red hues and lifted red fruit, which combined beautifully with the plush tannins from our Cabernet Sauvignon.
