2024 Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc

The 2024 Blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petite Verdot, and matured in 18% new French oak. A perfumed nose with rich raspberry and blackberry fruit with dense dark plum, spice and dark fruit which carries through to the palate with velvet tannins.

The Balnaves Coonawarra Vineyard was established in 1975 and is situated at the southern end of the Coonawarra Terra Rossa strip. The family, which has been associated with the district since 1855, remains fully committed to a high level of ‘hands-on’ involvement.

2024 vintage saw fluctuating weather through the growing season with cooler weather during flowering resulting in slightly lower yields. It was mild leading up to vintage, and overall was cool and dry, resulting in gradual tannin development.
