Balnaves have selected Cabernet Sauvignon parcels showing more complex characters with elegant structure for our Sparkling Cabernet Sauvignon. Blended from eleven different vintages selected from 2014-1995, this wine has been matured in an old French oak solera prior to tirage in September 2014.

Vintage 2014 produced excellent Shiraz. Sourced from our 40 year old Paulownia Shiraz vineyard that ripened in early April, considerably later than in recent years. Matured for 18 months in new (35%) and second fill French oak, supplied from Bossuet, Dargaud + Jaaegle and Sylvain cooperages.
2013 Cabernet Merlot
Vintage 2013 was generally mild with one hot period. Blended from Cabernet Sauvignon (82%) principally from our Walker, Quarry and Dead Morris vineyards, with Merlot (18%) from Avery and Rise. Walker Cabernet, the largest component, was harvested using berry sorting technology prior to ferment.
2013 Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage 2013 produced good crops with fruit coming in late April and with good fruit definition. Blended from our Dead Morris, Quarry and 1976 Old Cabernet vineyards, this wine spent 19 months in tight-grain French oak from Taransaud, Saury and Berger cooperages, before bottling in December 2014.
2013 The Tally
Vintage 2013 produced good crops and ripened late in April producing deeply flavoured fruit with fine tannins. Sourced entirely from our Dead Morris vineyard, all fruit was handpicked and 40% of the blend received a long maceration on skins.
